The Family Under the Bridge Quote I

In his misery he raised his eyes high over the altar-up to the stars in the Paris sky. "Please, God," he said, moving his lips soundlessly, "I've forgotten how to pray. All I know now is how to beg. So I'm begging you to find a roof for this homeless family." Then he was ashamed to notice that he was holding his beret up in his usual begging way.

It's actually one of my favorite books.

At a certain point you don't always remember all the books you've read off the top of your head. I guess I'm at that point. I have it written down somewhere...Have you read any of Sir Walter Scott's novels? their quite something...you might be the kind of person who would be able to leap over the first few chapters and get into the fun stuff. I certainly didn't think I was the type.

Yes, I LOVE Sir Walter Scott!

He wrote Waverly and Ivanhoe, correct?

Yes (the only reason I know that is because my brother read both of them)...I haven't read those two books, but I have read "Sir Robert of Paris" and "The Betrothal" (or something along those lines?). You get alot of useful names out of those books then you can use them and name your cats :)

Oog...I just found something out. Waverly is twice as thick as the regular books or in my case has two volumes of the same thickness...thats quite an accomplishment. Have you heard of G.A. Henty? His books always have "nice" endings.

I have never heard or read of the book, but that quote was really good. :)
